robin mccune

Robin comes from a family of engineers and teachers and has always had an interest in technology and machinery. His Interests led him to seek a degree from Tufts University in Mechanical Engineering and German language.  Robin also realized his skills in sales and teaching. While still in school he worked as a sales person for consumer electronics retailers and after graduating he took on the role of head coach of the Tufts University Ski Team. The combination Robin’s engineering, sales, and teaching skills is the basis for his entrepreneurial ambition.

Robin soon moved on to develop his engineering career at Instron Corporation, a worldwide leader in the production of materials testing equipment.  He advanced quickly at Instron from custom project engineer to assistant product manager in just a few years. He also spent a couple years working from the company’s German office where his focus was to enhance Instron’s competitive edge.  Robin’s new roles in marketing and management and his experience abroad led him to consider returning to school to study international business management.

While planning his strategy for business school in 2002, Robin decided to start a small business for home system installation. He reconnected with a former colleague from Circuit City, Greg Brett, who was a manager in the retail consumer electronics business. They decided to combine their talents and found the new company together. Robin and Greg soon realized the true potential in serving this market segment and the concept of Sounds Good became a reality.

Robin’s role as one of the owners of Sounds Good Corporation is multi-faceted.  Robin focuses much of his time on the development and leadership of the custom electronics technology integration team as well as the business consulting team. With a vigilant eye to future technologies, Robin capitalizes on his engineering expertise to introduce and integrate the most practical, efficient, and well designed systems for Sounds Good customers.
